Sports Day 2006

Hello 05V11,

Sports Day has officially come to a close, 3 days ago in fact. Well, this year’s edition has witnessed quite some many changes from last year I must say. Hmm, first and foremost, I would like to thank everyone who participated in the 5 events offered, went down to support, or helped in their own little way. This year saw much more participation on everyone’s part, and much more nagging and pestering from me. At least we enjoyed it all =). Well you guys better had. Haha.

Well, I’m not sure if we actually did better than last year, but what was really important was the class spirit that we exhibited, but which sadly we didn’t bank on much to our advantage, and which slowly diminished and died down. We can always blame unfortunate events, unforeseen mishaps, such as wing yan and rui qi’s injury, or the sheer coincidental arrangement and timing of stuff that people had on which clashed with heats and stuff, such that we could not have performed better. I’m not about to turn this post into a sad one, but all I can say is that given more cooperation, anticipation, participation, and a little more initiative from everyone we would have seen a happier ending for everyone, but we have ourselves to blame, and I am deeply sorry and apologetic to all that I have let down and disappointed, for much of the responsibility I have to shoulder.

Everyone seems a bit jaded of late. I’m not too sure if it has got anything to do at all with the workload, or with the events that happened during sports day, but let’s all brace ourselves for future events that we can possibly do better in. I know I’m not exactly the best motivator out there, the best person to do the job, but I do hope that once again, we will gel together as a class and show the others what we have got. V11 POWER!

Lastly, congratulations to everyone that did well and did our class proud! And to our 4 x 100 team, I am very proud of you guys even though we got disqualified. So don’t be too disappointed, because you guys already did your best. Special thanks goes to Marianne, Jovena, Diane, Leanne, Jia yi, Sarah, Rui qi, Margaret, Wu yue, Wing yan, Qian yu, Janice, Sandra, Hao tang, Leon, Eric, Yee jek, Wen shu, Daniel, Zheng chen, Leqiao, Shannon, Yin xun, and Yan le for participating, and to the rest of the V11ers for lending support. A very big thank you once again.

Invigorate’s ours to own. Secret training at parkway? ;)

With sincerest regards,
Nick
