Hey guys, sorry for spoiling the lineup of Velvet photos up here, but I saw a need to post this up to inform those of you supportive of gay rights! And those who are not, attack me. :D
SAFE Singapore has sent out the following Statement to their Press and Media contacts in Singapore. The Government has asked for public feedback on the proposed changes to the Penal Code and it would be very helpful if you could write in to the feedback unit, identifying yourself as a straight ally, at this link http://www.reach.gov.sg/olcp/asp/ocp/ocp01d1.asp?id=3683.13 Nov 2006
To The Press
We are a group of parents, families and friends of lesbian and gay people who believe in a society that accepts, affirms and empowers everyone to participate fully in it regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation.
We write to voice our opposition to the proposed changes to the Penal Code and in particular to the retention of s.377A which criminalizes male same-sex acts even if conducted in private. The Ministry of Home Affairs has come public to say they will "not be proactive in enforcing the section against adult males engaging in consensual sex with each other in private." Why then have a law if it is not going to be enforced? Is it not illogical and a self-contradiction to have a law on the statute books and not enforce it? It appears that the government wants to have its cake and eat it too -- employing gay people in civil service, welcoming foreign talent even if they might be gay and benefiting from the contributions of intelligent & creative gay brains while not doing anything at all to protect these same gay people's human rights.
Are we to remain on the surface, according to MHA, "by and large, a conservative society (where) many do not tolerate homosexuality, and consider such acts abhorrent and deviant" while covertly wooing the gay community's pink dollar and creative talents?
As friends and families of gay people, we are strongly against any law that makes the people we love and respect -- our adult gay sons, brothers, grandsons, nephews and friends, "criminals" simply by what they do in private with another consenting adult.
Do we have an agenda? Yes indeed. Our agenda is to strive for a society based on justice and equality, respect for individual dignity and opposed to bigotry, homophobia or any other form of hatred and discrimination.

VoilĂ ! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.

Class Tee 2
hey.
have been busy lately so havent had mcuh time to consolidate stuff. the price of 21 dollars might be on the high side for most of you, so i think it would be a better idea to take away the chop on the side of the shirt, such that the shirt will cost 18 dollars, the same price as our house tee. ya and im sorry that we cant get it at a cheaper price cos its polo. sorry.
some of you might have been concerned about the position of the words 'victoria ip' on the back of the shirt, so i've recentralised the position so it will look like this:

ok ignore the black bits cos they wont appear when printed cos the shirt will be white. the front design remains the side design goes. we'll keep it at polo. let's keep this updated one the finalised version cos it's rather hard to amend the design to meet the diverse tastes of everyone and this is the best alr. so finalised details are as follow: white polo tee, front design- circle logo, back design- '1', price 18 dollars. if you are unable to pass me the money by symposium day do try to pass it to me somehow k. alright sizes remain the same any changes do let me know. ya and ordering 31 shirts still for the class and the two teachers.
lets make this work. thanks.
